Gibson mandolína A-40 (1934)
- [22.3. 2024]Zmazať/ Upraviť/ Topovať
Pred pár rokmi som si kúpil cez Reverb.com túto mandolínu, no nehrávam na nej už skoro vôbec. Verím, že niekoho poteší.
Žiadna packeta, iba osobný odber BA.
Je to starý nástroj, potrebuje servis, s tým treba rátať. Viac o nastroji predajca:
This is a 1934 Gibson A-40 mandolin with a hard case. While not a Loar mandolin, this is an excellent player-grade mandolin. As this old girl is 84 years old, she is hardly perfect. However, she still has the sound and magic you're looking for. FON # 1473-4
Intonation is pretty good, although a set up wouldn't hurt. The first 7 frets are considerably worn and will need a fret job eventually - however, the notes are still clear with no buzz so this job can be done at your pace.
There's a hairline crack on both sides of the upper f-hole. These can be repaired relatively inexpensively by your luthier.
Tailpiece is not original (originals go for upwards of $250 these days) but does not affect function. Needs a new endpin as well - it had been broken off by the time I got it.
Bridge is original, but the saddle has been replaced by an ebony Cumberland style. The saddle was handcarved when I got it, and I'll include that for fun too.
If you're buying a vintage mandolin for cosmetics, you probably already know this one isn't for you. If you're buying for a lovely piece of history that still plays and sounds great, you're in the right place.
